Miss Karen Bridge. Karen has
lived in Hipperholme all of her life. She
has been involved with Lightcliffe URC since she
was 8 years old. She is an Elder of the URC
and Captain of Pilots, the youth group for 5 to
11 year olds
Christ Church has a unique personality and style, – emerging
as a new fellowship when two local churches – Lightcliffe United
Reformed Church and Hipperholme Methodist Church – joined together.
It’s an LEP – a Local Ecumenical Partnership
- in more ways than one, with Lively Enthusiastic People
involved in Local/ Ecumenical Projects
along with Laughter, Evangelism
and Praise!

Church membership: We have a total membership of
106 made up of 62 Methodist members, 34 United Reformed members and
10 of our members have Joint Membership of both denominations.
Mission Statement Christ Church is
a worshipping community which seeks to witness to Christ through
fellowship, service and outreach and to develop knowledge and understanding
of God in today’s world.
Disabled Access/ Parking at the church: Easy parking in our on-site
car park with level access to hall, kitchen and toilets. Full disabled
access, including lift and ramp to upper worship area. Access toilets
on both levels.
Disabled Access at the Annex. The Annex has a chairlift to improve access to its upper level.
Resources: Our well-equipped, comfortable and adaptable
buildings are available for hire and prove to be an ideal venue for
local groups, Circuit and District events. We are centrally located
with easy access from surrounding towns and the M62.
