Lynda Bailey

I am a Local Preacher on trial.

I was born in Pellon, and when I was 2, we moved to Southowram, where I have lived on and off for 47yrs.

I have a son called Richard who is 27. He went to Birmingham University when he was 19, and stayed there. He now works in the Sandwell and Birmingham City Hospital in the Lab, testing bodily functions! Well someone has to do it!

I work in Southowram - catering sales assistant at Marshalls concrete works, and a school cleaner at Withinfields Primary school. I go to Boothtown 8 Southowrom Methodist Church.

At the old Southowram Methodist Church I have been a steward, J.M A. secretary, BB warrant officer (not official). play group leader, fundraising team captain. Ladies club speaker's secretary.

I am also a member of the Southowram Horticultural & Allotments Society and up until last year I was their speaker finder secretary.

I have given all these up so I can concentrate on my studies. I enjoy reading, listening to classical music and CD's of mainly songs from the shows and classical. And when I get the chance I watch my favourite DVD which is 'The Lake House', a wonderful chick fllck! I am a fan of the soap Home and Away!

I am enjoying doing the faith & worship course, and going to different churches around our circuit, meeting lots of interesting people. My mentor is Mr. Chris Robinson and my tutor is Mrs. Wendy Tolson and I am very grateful for their patience with me. Hopefully with their help and especially with God 's help, I will complete this course ond join the ranks of you all, as Local Preachers.
